MARTYR

Men usually gravitate towards Martyr, recognizing themselves in it. I always find it amusing when I later explain to them that Martyr is made from a very old recipe. In the past, absinthe was made from wormwood, leading to hallucinations. Instead, I brew it into tea to avoid the poison thujone contained in wormwood. This potent tea, mixed with brandy, is sweetened with "burnt" sugar, giving Martyr its unique flavor. I prefer to use wormwood on its own more often now, as it is very potent and a true natural antibiotic.
